Computational Political Scientist

I am a Political Scientist at the Institute for Empirical-Analytical Research (InFER) at Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany.
My research focusses on political institutions and dynamics of governance.

I am interested in computational approaches and quantitative empirical research.

Current Position

I am a doctoral researcher at Goethe University’s Chair for Political Science with a Focus on Education Policy / Political Socialization Research. Next to the research I conduct for my dissertation, I am also heavily involved in the institute’s teaching.

Research

Read my latest paper Radical Weakness in Comparative Political Studies

My main research focus is on political institutions and how they influence public policy and party behaviour. In my dissertation project, I investigate the institutional corridors parliamentary opposition operates in and how government ↔︎ opposition dynamics are shaped by them. I am fascinated by quantitative empirical research. In my research, I thus always seek to apply innovative methodology. Currently, I have a strong focus on computational text-as-data approaches, assuming a legalist perspective for my dissertation project. Besides these main areas, I am also greatly interested in coalition politics, political communication, media systems and the interconnection of economic and political inequality.

Contributions
